Introductory course
Never paddled before? We are here for you!
Throughout the summer, the Park offers kayak (single or double) and paddleboard lessons. It's the perfect opportunity to learn the basics of these water sports with great instructors! All equipment is icluded in the price of the lesson.
Doing an activity at the Park also means contributing to the protection, conservation and enhancement of the Rivière des Mille îles and its tributaries. The funds raised are used to conserve the river's rich natural environment and endangered species.
Activity-relevant information:
- Craft used: Paddleboard, single or double kayak
- Location: Berge du Garrot and Sainte-Rose archipelago
- Knowledge required: None
- Physical abilities required for kayaking: Ability to paddle for at least 2h30
- Physical ability required for paddleboarding: Ability to paddle for at least 2h30, good balance
This is an introductory activity. It therefore requires no prior knowledge or special physical skills. However, as the ratio is one instructor to 5 boats, the participant must be comfortable following a group and paddling for at least 2h30. Also, as this is a paddleboard activity, the person must have a good sense of balance.

How do I get started?
If you are not yet a Sport Plus member, create your account and your family members’ profiles. To begin, create your account via the INSCRIRE button. In the drop-down menu named NIVEAU at the top right, choose the guided activity of your choice to see the dates and places available. If you wish to add participants or an activity, simply change your profile in the drop-down menu named MEMBRE or change the activity in the NIVEAU menu. To proceed with the payment, select the shopping cart located on the top right and click on the PASSER LA COMMANDE button.
Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles will refund or postpone the guided activity if it has to be cancelled for weather, safety or lack of participants. The guided activity cannot be refunded or postponed with less than 48 hours notice.
