Christine Métayer
General Director

Annie Morrisseau
Assistant General Director

Jean Lauzon
Director of Development | Co-founder

Jean is the heart and soul of Éco-Nature, which he co-founded with Michel Aubé. Nobody will forget their first meeting with this river enthusiast! Jean holds a Certificate in Environment and a Certificate in Ecology from UQAM. An ardent defender of the environment, he first distinguished himself as a founding member of the Association de conservation et d'aménagement du plein air de Laval, then served as a founding member and director of the Conseil régional de l'environnement de Laval from 1996 to 2006. In 1985, he created Éco-Nature, the organization responsible for the Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles, which he managed for several years, setting up numerous landmark projects including the popular canoe descent, the play Les Aventures du Capitaine Dubord and the Route Bleue des Voyageurs. The creation of the Park has enabled us to develop an unrivalled ecotourism offering in the region. One of the largest non-motorized boat rental centers in Quebec, the Park welcomes over 150,000 visitors a year. In August 2018, Jean received the medal of the Quebec National Assembly for his dedication to protecting, conserving and enhancing the Mille Îles River, its main tributaries, islands, flora and fauna. He is also the designer of the recreational and utilitarian transportation project currently being implemented on the Rivière des Mille-Îles. His wish: that citizens will still have access to this jewel 100 years from now.

Catherine Angehrn
Communications and Customer Experience Manager

Catherine, our communications expert, is driven by the desire to devote her strengths to an honorable mission. Her passions for the environment and communications are second only to her dog Elvis! Catherine has worked for over 10 years in a marketing agency and for a few years as a digital marketing freelancer. Since 2019, she has been responsible for communications and marketing. In November 2020, she will take up the position of Communications and Customer Experience Manager. It's surprising that a seasoned web and social networking specialist like Catherine still hasn't created an Instagram account for her dog! Thanks to her expertise, we've been shortlisted for several awards and have won on numerous occasions! Her love of the web and her knowledge have enabled her to successfully launch our new site, which has achieved a record number of visits since it went online. In addition to the multitude of projects she oversees, she is currently pursuing her studies in organizational leadership to deepen her expertise.

Anaïs Boutin
Director of Protection and Conservation

An indispensable member of Éco-Nature for the past 12 years, Anaïs has led numerous projects for the conservation of some 92 species at risk and the natural environments of the Rivière des Mille Îles. With a masterful approach, she has multiplied partnerships with federal and provincial governments, educational institutions and local organizations. And that's not all! Anaïs has also carried out restoration projects on degraded habitats that are unique in Canada, as well as supporting stewardship conservation initiatives with private landowners. Anaïs holds a bachelor's degree in biology from UQAR and a master's degree in biology from UdeM for her work on the study of the environment, conservation and genetic identification of brook salamanders, as well as a passion for reptiles and amphibians. She has earned a reputation within our family for her original greetings, as she welcomes new members of the Éco-Nature team with little animal totems! For several years now, Anaïs has been Director of Protection and Conservation, a position that enables her to oversee the expansion of the Rivière-des-Mille-Îles wildlife refuge, which will soon grow from 26 to over 500 hectares.

Nathalie Caron
Director of Finance and Administration

Our Director of Finance and Administration is a woman of integrity and transparency who loves working as part of a team. Nathalie has been part of the Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles team since June 2020. She's the person you want by your side, as she is responsible for payroll! Her extensive expertise as a business development and financing consultant makes her a great asset to the organization. Since taking up her new post, she has been working to simplify management procedures and optimize existing tools, as well as overseeing the implementation of new financial software. With 25 years of experience, Nathalie has an impressive track record. She has contributed to the development of corporate policies and strategies, the creation and implementation of new business models, and the implementation of financial systems.

Francis Martineau
Director of Development

Trained in wildlife conservation, Francis Martineau is the dean of our team. Deeply committed to the mission of conservation, protection and enhancement of the Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles, following his internship with Éco-Nature, he joined us in 2000, and has never looked back. Luckily for us! He's a man of solutions, with an exceptional sense of commitment. Over the years, he has worked in all areas of development and customer service. Appointed Head of Development in the spring of 2018, Francis will switch roles again in November 2020 to become Director of his department. For the past 20 years, he has cultivated an in-depth knowledge of the Sainte-Rose archipelago, as well as the other sectors that are scattered along the 42 km of the Rivière des Mille Îles. With his vast experience, he masters like no other the management of operations on a natural territory, including the various aspects linked to safety, the development of seasonal outdoor activities, and the implementation and maintenance of the infrastructures required for our services.

Louis Provost-Brien
Director of Programming and Customer Service

Louis has been part of the Éco-Nature team since June 2018, a team in which he is quickly making his mark! In March 2020, he adds the position of special projects manager to his role as programming manager. In fall 2020, he is offered a new responsibility: the position of Director of Programming and Customer Service! Louis manages the programming of the Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles, acts as exhibition curator, coordinates the recreational and utilitarian transportation project team and works on various grant applications. He holds a doctorate in history, specializing in cultural and religious clashes in the Middle Ages, and has several publications to his credit, as well as having participated in various conferences in Canada and abroad. To work with Louis is to work with a structured, generous colleague with a wicked sense of humour, who knows how to defuse delicate situations, and who has kept his childlike heart, no doubt thanks to his experience of over 10 years in the Ville de Laval day camp program.
