This time of year, the region is abuzz with excitement as the new school year gets underway!
The children at the Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles day camp were sad to leave us last Friday, but still had smiles on their faces and minds full of memories. Whether they were reuniting with their friends and teachers, starting a new year or beginning their first year of high school, they were all excited to begin the 2019-2020 school year.
It's also nice to see the teachers, also visitors to the park, excited to meet up with their students, welcoming them with open arms to the schoolyard. It's a new beginning for them too!

Some may not know it yet, but the Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles offers a wide range of school activities!
Students taking part in our activities will have the chance to discover the biodiversity, history and culture of the Rivière des Mille Îles through educational and fun activities, all in a safe environment.
New this year: students will have the chance to discover our permanent exhibition, Believe it or not! More than just an exhibition, Believe it or not! is a collective awareness campaign on the actions we can take to conserve this precious living environment. Through testimonials and interactive games, students will learn more about the river's history, culture and ecosystems. They will also have the opportunity to explore one of the largest collections of naturalized animals in Quebec, as well as a rich heritage collection.

Several activities are offered from May to October, including the very popular amphibious rally and the One River, a Thousand Lives excursion, so there's little time left to enjoy them. Don't delay! See our list of summer activities (May to October) and winter activities (January to March). And of course, this is also the perfect time to plan your spring 2020 outings. By booking early, you're sure to get the date of your choice.

Or perhaps your child has entered high school, CEGEP or even university. Each new stage brings its own set of emotions for parents. As parents, we always feel a twinge of sadness when we let our children go to school and watch them grow year after year!
Going back to school also takes us back to our childhood memories, as far away as that may seem. How was your back-to-school week?
Hoping to see your kids at Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles this year!
Happy back-to-school!
